A 16th-Century Estate Restored with Conviction in Alaró
Five centuries ago, the Bishop of Palma chose Alaró. It is not difficult to understand why. The Tramuntana behind, stone streets below, and the particular silence of a village that has never needed to explain itself to anyone. Antonio Obrador restored this estate under one clear and guiding principle: keep what the centuries had earned, and add only what they had unambiguously earned the right to add. Nothing more. Nothing less. The result is a place that does not feel restored. It feels completely continuous. Gardens of olive, fig, orange and lemon. A chapel. Guest houses with their own independent lives. A large saltwater pool. And the quiet of Alaró, which belongs only to those who choose to live inside it.
